Woodland Firearms & Supply Expands to Bigger Location in Baraga
Baraga residents are excited for the newly opened, larger location of Woodland Firearms & Supply. Located on U.S. 41, the store provides a wider selection of goods for hunting, fishing, and more. Jason Chaudier, the store’s owner, purchased the store from a friend and has been working since March to fix up the 15-year vacant building.

The new location of Woodland Firearms & Supply has the advantage of a larger building and property to store more items for hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities. For example, with the additional space, they can store more deer feed, round bales for supplementary feeding deer, and heating pellets.

The store offers a range of arms, from rifles to handguns to muzzle loaders. Not only does the store sell arms, it also services bows and crossbows. The store provides a range of fishing gear, including an extensive trolling section. There is also supplies for ice fishing and deer blinds.
The Beginning
In October 2014, Chaudier opened Woodland Firearms & Supply in the garage of his Baraga home. After a busy first summer, he made the store his full-time job and moved it to a larger location on M-38.

Aside from the new building, Chaudier enjoys the camaraderie in the Woodland Firearms & Supply shop, where customers come in to talk and weigh their animals. The store also serves as a bear check station for the Department of Natural Resources. Customers are also happy with the new store, as the expansion means they can carry more items to pick from.

The Start of a Success Story
Woodland Firearms & Supply began in Chaudier’s garage in October 2014 and with a busy first summer, he quit his tutoring position and made the shop his full-time job. A year later, the store moved to M-38 with an added addition and it just kept growing from there.
